It’s late on a Thursday. You’d expect people to be packing up, but the energy in the room is still going strong. One colleague demos something they built with an AI agent, and others share ideas, with their third coffee in hand. It’s the final day of one of our discipline events, but no one’s in a hurry to leave – conversations drift from project insights to personal stories.

 

At Endava, moments like this don’t stand out because they’re rare; they’re how we work. We’ve built a culture where community matters and people come together to exchange ideas, shift perspectives and explore new ways to approach their craft.

Discipline events: room to grow, time to connect

Discipline events are where we create dedicated time for our craft. Whether you’re a designer, engineer, business analyst or tester, you have the opportunity to step back from

day-to-day delivery and delve deeper. The agenda is structured enough to provide focus yet relaxed enough to allow conversations to flow.

 

And often, it’s in conversational moments in between sessions that something clicks. Someone gets a tip on challenging task, saving hours of work for the week ahead. Or better yet, you finally meet a colleague face-to-face after months of remote collaboration, a happy occurence, since many teams are spread out across different locations.

 

Tech Communities: Where passion finds its people

Outside of events, it’s our Tech Communities that keep learning alive. Whether your interest lies in Java, .NET, Testing, DevOps or something more niche, there’s always space for you. Our communities are built on curiosity, not hierarchy. You can join a Q&A, take part in a hackathon or share what’s worked (or hasn’t) with someone walking a similar path.

 

Our Tech Communities are about having peers who understand your challenges, who celebrate the wins – especially the small ones – and who help you keep learning, even if you feel blocked.

Pass It On: The talk that changed everything

When Matjaž joined Endava after three decades elsewhere, he noticed something different: an initiative called Pass It On. The premise was simple: anyone could give a short talk to share something they’d learned. There were no rules, no formalities and no pressure to be an expert – just a chance to offer something useful to the community.

 

For someone who was used to presenting in Slovenian, presenting in English felt like a significant leap to Matjaž. He decided on a topic, carefully prepared and spoke at his first Pass It On. The response was warm, the questions kept coming and his nerves gave way to excitement.

 

That one talk turned into many. Today, he speaks regularly not only to share knowledge but also to connect with his colleagues. This was the talk that changed everything and made him feel genuinely at home in the Endava community.

 

Pass It On has continued to evolve. It's now engrained into our culture as an event that brings us together, celebrates curiosity and ensures every voice finds its place.

The spark that moves us forward

What lasts beyond the events, talks and workshops is the spark of curiosity. It’s that moment when your thinking shifts and courage and curiosity propel you to try something new – all driven by the momentum of shared learning.

 

This spark is what turns a group into a community and feel part of something bigger than themselves. It’s how we shape ideas, each other and keep moving forward together.
