For many across Endava’s communities, learning begins with a small spark: “What if I tried something new?” Over time, those sparks have grown into our junior programmes across the globe, including Romania. One of them is 'School of', a junior learning journey built around real practice, patient guidance and a sense of belonging. These programmes are meant to feel like an open doorway that beginners, career changers or simply the curious can step through and discover what they’re capable of.
Where curiosity becomes capability
Every ‘School of' path, whether it’s DevOps, Testing, Development or RuleBook, starts differently. Some learners arrive with a technical foundation, while others come from unrelated careers but share the desire to start fresh. What they all find is an environment shaped by hands-on work, steady guidance and the freedom to grow at their own pace.
“The School of DevOps turned my curiosity into confidence,” says Veniamin Melnic. “It showed me that DevOps isn’t just about tools, but it’s a mindset and a way of collaborating.” Many programme participants share similar stories: the moment things ‘clicked', the challenge that once felt impossible became possible and the realisation that growth happens step by step, not all at once.

Growing together: the power of community
Ask anyone who has been part of a ‘School of' programme what stayed with them, and they’ll rarely talk only about the technologies. They’ll talk about the people: the mentor who stayed late to explain something one more time, the classmate who became a teammate or the moment they understood that learning isn’t a solo journey.
Many describe the ‘pass it on' spirit that forms naturally within each group – the instinct to share so others can grow alongside you. This is the thread that ties each generation of learners to the next. For Ioana Catinean, who coordinates the ‘School of RuleBook’, that spirit is the programme’s heartbeat: “Our trainees supported each other, and their growth was visible from day one.”
Mentoring: the bridge between potential and performance
Mentoring has always been one of Endava’s quiet superpowers. It’s not done out of obligation. It’s shaped by sympathy, trust and memory of having once been a learner yourself.
“Being the Romania Programme Coordinator for the ‘School of DevOps' has been incredibly rewarding,” says Mihai Tisu. For many of them, mentoring is a way of honouring the support they once received and passing it on.
Trainers like Mihaela Mocanu-Gheorgiu know this feeling well. She started her journey as a junior in an upskilling programme, years before she became a mentor herself. “Training new joiners felt like a natural way to give back,” she says. “We learn from each other.”
The program is perfectly structured, balancing theory, hands-on practice, and mentoring in a way that makes learning truly engaging.”
The most valuable aspect was that theory was always reinforced through hands-on exercises, both manual and automated, combined with constructive, focused feedback from the trainers, who ensured that every question was thoroughly clarified.”
For me, the Junior Growth Program is more than a learning journey. It’s a space to grow, experiment and prepare to make a real difference in how we build technology.”
A culture that keeps growing
The ‘School of' programmes aren’t defined by their curricula or frameworks. They’re defined by the people who choose to learn, share and support each other. They remind us of something essential about Endava’s culture, which is that learning never ends, sharing connects us and when we grow together, we grow stronger.
