Imagine if Google Search worked across your enterprise. Now imagine it could also take action.

That is the premise of Google Agentspace. As AI moves from experimentation into everyday operations, enterprise leaders are asking not just what is possible, but what is practical. How can we surface the right knowledge at the right time, and enable people to act on it with confidence?

The real cost of disconnected knowledge

Enterprise IT estates are vast, complex and full of valuable information. Yet much of it remains hidden in plain sight. Project documentation in Confluence, technical tickets in Jira, policies in shared drives, process changes scattered across email threads.

When that knowledge is hard to find, work slows down. People spend time asking around, retracing decisions, or recreating work. Onboarding suffers. So does service quality.

It is a challenge not of data scarcity, but of data accessibility.

Agentspace in context

Agentspace is Google's approach to solving this challenge. It allows organisations to ask natural language questions of their own internal data and receive reliable, contextual answers. Think of it as a private, secure version of Google Search, tailored to your systems and terminology.

But what makes Agentspace more than just a search tool is its ability to act. It can create calendar events, trigger workflows or prompt follow-ups, all while respecting access controls and enterprise policies.

That blend of understanding and action is where its potential lies.

Learning from implementation

At Endava, we have started using Agentspace to support our Cloud DevOps teams. We connected it to our Jira and Confluence environments, along with information in Google Cloud Storage. This has allowed our engineers to ask questions like:

  • How do I request a new Google Cloud resource?

  • What steps are needed to patch this vulnerability?

Rather than pointing to a manual or generic internet result, the agent draws from how we have configured and managed our systems. And when more support is needed, the agent can schedule meetings or flag issues to the right teams.

It is not just about speed. It is about surfacing the right knowledge at the right time, and reducing friction in day-to-day tasks.

A familiar pattern

We are seeing patterns we recognise from earlier technology shifts. AI adoption today feels much like cloud adoption a decade ago. The excitement, the uncertainty, the scramble to define what “good” looks like.

But this time the questions are broader. How do we ensure responsible use? How do we build for change, not just for launch? How do we ensure these systems support our people, not just automate them?

AI is often described as the next big shift, even larger in impact than the internet. Whether or not that proves true, it is clear that organisations who engage with these questions early will be better placed to shape the answers.

Building responsibly

Technology alone does not make something enterprise ready. It needs governance, resilience, clarity on data handling and clear responsibilities. That is where design choices matter.

At Endava, we co-design agents with clients in a way that reflects how their organisations actually work. That includes legal and ethical safeguards, secure integration with existing systems, and a pathway for ongoing improvement. Because the job is not done once an agent is in production.

Things change. Models evolve. Data shifts. The systems need to adapt too.

Getting started

For many organisations, the challenge is not about vision but about making the first step tangible. What use cases make sense? What knowledge sources should be prioritised? What does a responsible deployment look like?

These are questions worth exploring carefully. If you are beginning to think through how agentic AI fits into your environment, Agentspace offers one path worth examining.

And as with any shift, the earlier you engage, the more influence you can have on how it supports your people and your goals.
