Endava recognized in Gartner market guide for Agile and DevOps Services

Endava has been identified as a Representative Vendor in an October 2017 Gartner Market Guide intended to provide an understanding of the Agile and DevOps services market and its offerings.

According to Gartner, “Agile, iterative or lean methodologies are now used by 57% of software development teams. Some IT organisations cross-train their existing employees or recruit new developers with agile skills.” The report continues, “One in three organisations buys agile services, and one in four buys DevOps services.”

The 2017 Gartner Research Circle survey included in the report found that “the most important attributes are the business and technical competencies of the service provider's delivery team. The challenge for buyers is to ensure that service providers demonstrate this competency during the sales process before the project has begun.” The report continues, “buyers reported that they receive most value from external service providers that can help them change culture and shift to a more agile mindset.”

Through our deep understanding of Agile methodologies, we help clients achieve collaboration between all layers of their organisation, ensuring business and technology goals are aligned. Our teams drive the adoption of Agile practices whilst delivering products and services, and this leads to improved tailoring and better adoption of the new practices. We also create a strong core of Agile practitioners from client staff and as a result, create a pervasive Agile culture. This, coupled with knowledge of a wide range of technologies, allows us to select and apply the most suitable ones, as well as the ability to quickly scale our efforts to support the full software lifecycle.” said George Anghelache, Head of Agile Transformation, Endava.

Endava takes an incremental approach to projects, which allows the planning, adaptation and delivery of solutions that increase their clients’ responsiveness, mitigate risks and achieve continuous delivery of valuable software. Endava has established a strong CD & DevOps practice and successfully delivered solutions on AWS and Azure infrastructures using technology such as Ansible, Git, Docker and Jenkins to accelerate releases and help their clients reduce time to market.

The Gartner research also notes “like the larger service providers, midsize system integrators often supplement on-site teams with nearshore delivery centers where a substantial time zone overlap with their customers facilitates agile projects.” Endava is well positioned for this and has substantial experience in delivering globally distributed Agile programmes from our delivery centres in LATAM and Central Europe.

ADOPTING AN AGILE MODEL FOR PROGRAMME SUCCESS

A global investment bank took prompt action to engage Endava as seasoned Agile delivery and automation experts when this financial organisation needed to adopt an agile delivery model to re-platform a global Settlement system due to the aggressive timescales and lack of maturity in the requirements process. As well as de-risking this critical programme, Endava established a user-friendly set of tools to manage the agile process and improve code quality, software engineering, development operations and test automation as well as establishing a new set of software delivery and quality benchmarks.

IMPROVED CUSTOMER ONBOARDING THROUGH CONTINUOUS DELIVERY

A global payments firm providing PCI compliant product for its clients across different industries wanted to reduce the time required to onboard new clients while optimising operational costs by moving onto the cloud. Endava architected the system into a hybrid-cloud platform optimised for multi-tenancy, built an API layer and split the monolithic middleware component into microservices to better facilitate future change. Endava also delivered a continuous delivery pipeline, a new agile test strategy and delivered automated regression packs and established DevOps practices on top of the AWS stack. This has resulted in improved ability to attract new clients to the platform, reduced onboarding time from months to hours, and better ability to deploy new channels quickly in response to market demand and a lower cost of operation.
