Endava signals continued growth, opening its new office in Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The new space of 6,700 sqm. occupies 8 floors of the United Business Center Tower.  In addition to the open office space, it includes 48 conference rooms, two relaxation rooms with fusssball and ping pong facilities, as well as a cafeteria for 100, where staff can meet. Pastries, hot and cold dishes, dairy products, soft drinks, coffee and tea will soon be available on a daily basis from an external provider. Each floor has coffee facilities, a balcony overlooking the lake and the 9th floor even includes a terrace of 300 sqm. The new office also hosts a 100 seat training room  for the Endava University programme dedicated to staff development and training.

„By moving into this new space we are consolidating our operations in Cluj-Napoca in one office which has a capacity that will enable us continue to grow at a rate of 25% per year. We plan to hire 140 more people in Cluj in the next 12 months and in two years we aim to pass the 850 people milestone in Cluj. ”, said John Cotterell, CEO Endava.

The concept used in the arrangement of the new space is similar for all Endava offices, in this case being replicated at a larger scale.

“We have a partnership with Iulius Group since 2008, for our offices in Cluj-Napoca and Iași, and during our collaboration we received the support we needed for the expansion of our activities. Moreover, as with each office building of Iulius Group in Romania, we saw a step forward in concept and execution, and the new office completely meets our expectations so that our teams enjoy a great work environment”, added Valentin Metzger, Delivery Director for Endava’s development and support centre in Cluj.

10 IT specialists hired each month in the delivery centre in Cluj-Napoca

Endava was 6th in a recent ranking of software companies in Romania by revenue (Ziarul Financiar 2014) with 25 million euro revenue in 2013, up 77% compared to Endava’s revenues in Romania in 2012. At group level, Endava had a revenue of £64mn (approximately 81 million euro) in the financial year 2013-2014.

Endava’s office in Cluj-Napoca boasts the largest capacity in the Group, followed in Romania by Bucharest, with 280 people, and Iasi, with 270 people. In total, the three delivery centers in Romania have more than 1,100 employees, an increase of over 40% over the past two years.

With 65% of the new office space currently occupied, the company is looking to hire in Cluj approximately 140 more people in the next 12 months, including profiles such as: software developers (Java, .NET, mobile), software testers, project managers, software architects, business analysts, IT support engineers, network support engineer, IT systems engineers, IT infrastructure project managers, service delivery managers or service desk analysts.

New hires in Endava are both experienced IT professionals and graduates in an early stage of their career. In the past year, more than 50 people participated in internship and graduate programmes organized by Endava in Cluj.

The Group has over 1,600 full time employees across its locations in the UK, US, Germany, Romania, Moldova and Macedonia.  Endava’s operations in the region also include an office in Chisinau with 300 employees and an office opened this year in Skopje, with 20 employees at the moment.

National and international projects, delivered from Cluj-Napoca

The largest projects delivered from the center in Cluj-Napoca include software development services for Worldpay, one of the most important payment processors in the UK, which recently signed a 3-year partnership with Endava. It is a large transformation program to build the next generation of payments platforms along with the development and support of Worldpay’s production systems.

Projects for British media trust, Trinity Mirror Group, in which Endava provides 24 x 7 service desk, local support for almost 5,000 Trinity Mirror users are also provided by the new centre.  The work includes infrastructure management, applications support and development, digital development and testing services.

The projects delivered locally include the most complex Oracle Siebel CRM implementation in Eastern Europe for Banca Transilvania. The project covered from business analysis and software development, to solution customisation and application management services for the new CRM system used by Banca Transilvania for managing all operations with its 1.7 million client base in Romania.
