Endava doubled its headcount in Romania in 2012

With over 660 employees in its offices in Cluj-Napoca, Iasi and Bucharest, the company is among the most active IT employers in Romania. Additionally, in October last year, the company inaugurated a new office in the capital city, increasing its office space to over 2,000 sqm in each of its locations in Romania.

“Endava’s growth is the result of significant local recruitment initiatives and investment in our people brand, including Endava University. Compared to 340 employees in Romania in January 2012, we have almost doubled our headcount. Currently, we have over 310 employees in Cluj, 225 employees in Iasi and 125 in our new office in Bucharest”, said John Cotterell, Endava’s Chief Executive.

Endava’s recruitment campaign during 2012 was implemented through participation in job fairs, company internship and graduate programs, and by attending and supporting IT events targeting seniors. During last year, the company organized its own recruitment events, including a one week event ‘Endava Career Days’ in Iasi, ‘Open Days for Students’ in Cluj, while last autumn Endava was very active in the capital city, by participating in the largest job fair in Romania as well as many events in Bucharest universities.

“To support the professional development of Endava staff, we follow a Talent Management strategy which starts with an induction process in which new employees get familiar with the processes within the organisation, followed up by technical and soft skills training organised within the Endava University programme, as well as career path and mentoring programmes. The company also aims to offer our people a great work environment and many social activities”, added John Cotterell.

Over 100 internships and job opportunities for IT students and graduates

In 2012, approximately 75 students participated in Endava’s internship and graduate programmes, in Cluj-Napoca and Iasi. This year, Endava will continue the program for students and graduates in Iasi and Cluj-Napoca and also start a similar programme in its Bucharest office in February.

“In 2013, Endava will offer internships and jobs for more than 100 IT students and graduates, while we will also continue to offer career opportunities to experienced IT professionals .”, said John Cotterell.

Among job profiles sought across all Endava locations in Romania are Java, .NET, C++ and mobile developers, software testers and architects, project managers and business and system analysts.

In the next 3 years, the company plans to grow to over 1,000 people in its delivery centers throughout Romania, but is looking for support from Romanian authorities.

From its Romanian delivery centers Endava delivers projects for clients mainly in the financial services, telecom, media and online services sectors in the UK, USA and Germany, as well as for local clients in the banking sector. From Romania, Endava delivers service to 3 of the top 10 global financial institutions and was recently listed among the top 100 outsourcers worldwide.
