Endava was a partner of the 2020 edition of Techy por el Dia virtual event organised by Cuti, the association of Information and Communication Technologies companies of Uruguay. This initiative aimed to celebrate the International Girls in ICT Day, raising awareness about IT industry’s lack of women and encouraging girls to consider their future in technology.

Our virtual session included girls of high school age (between 13 and 20 years old). The recruiting team introduced them to the company, and then our software development engineers shared their experience, the reasons that led them to pursue a career in technology, how they made the decision, and what difficulties they encountered along the way. We also tried to tear down some industry myths together.

It was an extremely enriching event, and we are very happy to carry out this type of initiative, drawing attention to the critical need for more girls and women in the ICT sector.
