Chisinau
Chisinau is capital of Moldova, a small Eastern European country between Ukraine and Romania. Over 700,000 people live in this city that is considered to be one of the greenest cities in Europe. Chisinau is only 130 kilometers away from Iasi (Romania).
The IT industry in Moldova is considered to be one the most dynamic in the country. The IT and software development outsourcing industry accounts for 10 percent of the budget contributions. The Government is supporting the development of the ICT sector as a key driver for the economic growth and innovation implementation.
Tax incentives for IT companies lead to many international firms opening up their development centers in Chisinau, which in turns contribute to the creation of jobs applying foreign values and understanding to the Moldovan market.
Chisinau is home to 12 public and 11 private universities, including Technical University of Moldova and State University of Moldova that prepare IT graduates.
Most of the population is fluent in at least Romanian and Russian, but also English, French, Italian, Spanish, German.
There is a variety of flight connections to Chisinau available at 2-3 h difference from major European cities and there is a no visa regime for EU and US citizens.
