Endava In The Community

Global Compact

Endava joined the Global Compact in September 2007, assuming the obligation to respect and sustain Global Compact’s principles in the fields of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.

Endava’s responsibility for the impacts of its activities on local communities, employees and their families, customers, shareholders and environment informs all aspects of its operations. Where possible, Endava voluntarily surpasses its statutory obligations as an employer to improve the quality of life of its employees and local communities.

Investing in the next generation

Endava is also committed to nurturing the next generation of young people through partnerships, with the leading Eastern European universities. As well as also creating excellent career opportunities for the most talented graduates from universities in Moldova and Romania, we aim to improve the quality and range of the IT curriculum taught in local universities. For example, Endava is sponsoring a software engineering course at the Technical University in Chisinau.

We also organise free training for recent graduates on topics such as software development and testing, and it has already become a tradition for Endava to sponsor the participation of the best IT students in Moldova in Informatics Olympiads and other regional IT competitions.

Environment

Endava employees regularly take part in the Global Compact’s ‘Green Day — Because We Care’ campaign, where our staff in Moldova plant trees and clear litter in local parks.

On a wider scale, Endava plans to encourage the development of environmentally-friendly technologies across all of its offices, and support low-carbon activities such as cycling to work, teleconferencing and reducing power and paper consumption.

Charity and voluntary giving

The first Endava-wide initiative to bring positive transformation to the communities, in which we work, was the ‘Shoe Box of Joy’; campaign during December 2009. The ‘Shoe Box of Joy’ consisted of Endava staff donating shoe boxes of presents to sick or under-privileged children in Endava’s local communities, with a total of 290 boxes filled and distributed in the UK, Romania and Moldova. The beneficiaries were:
