Software Testing
Endava’s Promotional Testing Model (PTM) and team of highly-qualified test engineers provide a blueprint for how organisations can successfully deliver large, highly-complex technology change programmes. Endava specialises in providing systems testing – strategy, projects, extended teams and managed services – for the banking and financial services industry as well as telecommunications and media sectors.
Endava’s services are underpinned by the experience gained while delivering high volume, integrated technology solutions across distributed technology platforms for the world’s leading financial institutions, clearing houses and credit card companies. Endava also provides application development and managed services; this end-to-end expertise allows it to understand the importance of integrating testing into the overall software development lifecycle.
Endava has addressed the evolution to service-based architectures with its Promotional Testing Model which deals with the specific challenges of these complex technology change and integration projects. Endava’s Promotional Testing Model is based on test-driven development, well-proven iterative development principles and the widely-accepted V-model of testing to ensure that requirements analysis is closely aligned to the testing and defect management lifecycle.
Managed as a sequential process, from development testing, through system testing and integration testing to acceptance testing and final production readiness, the PTM only promotes code when it is ready for the next testing phase, improving the quality of the code base during each development phase.
The different phases of testing and software development projects have varied risk and cost profiles which need to be reflected in the composition, experience and costs of the testing team. Endava’s ‘blended’ sourcing model provides the optimum balance between cost and risk throughout the project lifecycle. Endava’s UK-based onshore team is used for testing strategy, development and implementation, moving to a mixed Onshore/Nearshore team for maintenance and ad-hoc projects once the system is live.
Endava has a team of testers dedicated to the banking and financial services sector, with specific expertise in areas such as the ISO8583 message standard, industry-standard testing tools and best practice for banking processes.
Endava recruits and employs the highest-skilled test engineers, most of whom have previous industry-specific experience. Endava helps them develop their skills through training on testing best practice via the ISEB/ISTQB curriculum, contributions to in-house developments, and experience on client sites and on large system testing programmes. This ensures Endava can always provide its customers with the most appropriately-trained test engineers, test tool engineers, test analysts and test managers. Endava’s project-based services are augmented by testing staff skilled at implementing test tools, developing automated test suites, and in performance, load and stress testing.
